Memories of Brazil
Memories of Brazil, or “As Lembrançes do Brasil” is a melodic suite based on my experiences in Brazil starting with Galinhas no Omnibus (Chickens on the Bus) through thirteen other short pieces ending with Carnival. There is a distinct Brazilian mood provided by me (Sterling Forrester) on guitar with William Woodworth, Oboe – David Angell, Violin and Jim Lotz on Bassoon. There are some incredibly lovely movements in this music from my “middle period”. I wrote it in Nashville in the year 2000 over a period of about a month. The next three chamber works also feature William, David and Jim as they play a Trio Sonatina, a Suite for a Midsummer's Day for Oboe and Bassoon, and finally, a Divertimento for Violin and Bassoon. Simple but challenging music because the players never get to rest! I am proud to say that these works have been performed around the world! Music scores are available.
