Paradise
Paradise: "More than just a place!" Manuel "Tom" Faria, Manuel "Mike" Costa, and Ken Cefalo perform eleven Faria originals, ranging in style from '40's swing to modern progressive rock. Each song depicts a different mood, style, and emotion. The band draws its name from Paradise Avenue in Banta, California, where Tom and Mike grew up. Tom (keyboards, vocals) is a graduate of University of the Pacific's Conservatory of Music in Stockton, California, and has taught music in Los Banos, California for the past 20 years. He is a well-known choral director, pianist, and vocalist in and around Los Banos, California. Mike (drums, percussion) also a graduate of the University of the Pacific Conservatory, holds a master's degree in percussion performance from University of Illinois, Champagne/Urbana, teaches percussion and piano at Main Street Music in Tracy; he is a highly sought after percussionist in the greater San Joaquin Delta area. Ken (guitar, bass) owns and manages Main Street Music in Tracy. He has studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston and Cal State Hayward. He, too is a highly sought guitarist and bassist in the greater San Joaquin Delta area, both on stage and in the studio. The band's greatest hope is that the audience enjoys listening to the music as much as they enjoy performing it.
