All That Jazz, Vol. 112: All Stars - Bud Freeman
Lawrence "Bud" Freeman was an American jazz musician, bandleader, and composer and he was one of the most influential and important jazz tenor saxophonists of the big band era. He had a smooth and full tenor sax style with a heavy robust swing, and he had a very long career that lasted for almost six decades from the Twenties into the Eighties of the 20th Century. Freeman maintained a reputation for high-spirited, skillful and fluent playing, often creating his own rhythm by prodigious use of unison riffs. He was said to have been an influence on the great Lester Young. 16 choice Bud Freeman tracks have been included on this album, in about a half of them the Bud Freeman All Stars are joined by Shorty Baker, one of the best trumpet players of his time. 16 tracks carefully remastered in 24 Bit High Resolution and 16 tracks to enjoy!
