Give My Love
Bruno “Patchworks” Hovart is definitely a name to remember if you’re interested in today’s groove Music scene. After playing as a bassist and guitarist for various bands, he started producing in the mid-nineties and has kept on mixing today’s technologies with the raw spirits of House, Electronic, Disco, Funk, Soul & Jazz music’s golden years since then. Following the trail of success left by his various projects as Patchworks, and under many aliases such as Mr President, Uptown Funk Empire, The Dynamics or Metropolitan Jazz Affair, he’s proved his musical ubiquity album after album and unexpectedly stroke in various genres. And over the past 15 years, he’s therefore collaborated, amongst others, with labels like Q-Tape, Rotax Disques, Big Single, or Favorite Recordings. For this new EP, he teams up again with Favorite Recordings team, but this time under the EDR Records’ umbrella, bringing us back to their early love for House and Deep-House music! Many House music diggers over the world would indeed remember that before Favorite Recordings was launched in 2005, Pascal Rioux and Patchworks were famous for their various club hits on the RIP Rotax Disques imprint. It’s now time for EDR Records to take over what’s been left by the Rotax era… First EDR official release of a long series to come, this 3 tracks EP is strongly armed for killing any dancefloor!! On the A side, “Give My Love” pays tribute to Sylvester or Ten City, also revealing a new talented singer from Lyon called Sabba MG. As for the B side, “House Music” and “Enjoy Yourself” are clearly infected by some of the best early producers of the genre such as Jovonn, Moodymann, Theo Parrish, Basil, Kerri Chandler, or A Guy Called Gerald to name just a few…
