He's so Fine: The Laurie Records Story 1961-1962
Laurie Records was a New York-based independent record company that, over three decades from 1958, regularly cracked the upper echelons of the American charts. Their first signing was to become one of the biggest pop stars of the era, Dion, who released hits such as 'Runaround Sue' and 'The Wanderer'. The label certainly left its marks and you can hear why in the grooves of many of the classic recordings on this collection, including 'Gee Oh Gosh' by The Jarmels, 'Words Can't Explain' by The Alteers and 'Sailor Boy' by Cathy Carr.
