It’s a pleasure to present our collaboration with one of UK’s finest producers: Perc! Dark, hypnotic soundscapes meet deep and rolling grooves and are brought together in a hallucinatory blend of modern electonic music. From his earliest demos to his current position as a key figure in the global techno scene Perc (aka Ali Wells) has taken past and present music formulas and twisted them into something new and fresh. Key to Perc’s recent success was the release of ‘Up’ on Kompakt in summer 2007. With its unmistakable sound, Perc’s music lodged itself in record boxes including those of Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Chris Liebing, Misc, Slam, John Digweed, Green Velvet, Erol Alkan, Tommy Four Seven, Dustin Zahn and Steve Lawler and refused to move. To cement his techno credentials Ali’s ‘Sticklebrick’-EP on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode label made him the first non-Swedish artist to release on the label in 7 years and showed that he could produce to a standard equal to the world’s best. Since that, Ali released his music on labels such as Chris Liebing’s CLR, Ovum and his own imprint Perctrax… just to name a few. This success has made Perc an in-demand remixer and over the past few years Ali has been commissioned to remix a host of world-class names including Trentemoller, James Holden, DJ Hell, Misc, Phil Kieran, DJ Yellow, Blood & Tears, Jeff Bennett, Gary Beck and many more. The remixes on this outstanding EP have been produced by no one less than Mr. Dustin Zahn who himself is one of the shooting stars of the techno scene and released his music on some of the most respected labels (such as Drumcode, CLR, Truesoul etc.) as well during the past. This amazing package is completed by a remix done by our dear Canadian friends of Metalogic who did another brilliant interpretation of the original.
