Inner8 Remixes Pt. 2
He doesn't have a profile as high as Detroit innovators such as Derrick May and Carl Craig, but this EP shows that Alton Miller has forged a distinct sound and is an inspiration to a lot of fellow producers from all over the world. This 2nd remix EP on "Inner8" (the first was released through Clone a month ago) focuses on deeper house grooves, similar to those of Ame and fellow maverick emotion manipulator Radio Slave. Steve Azzara’s re-rub of Alton Miller’s "Inner8" is a sublimely deep offering that solders together spiritually aware Detroit beats with emotion-gripped melodies and strings. This truly is a bouncy, joyful track that fuses electronica and sounds together with the help of bright house stabs and deep bassline. Literon’s take on Inner8 comes with razor sharp claps, one intense house stab, and deep dub bass, it's like Sascha Dive meets Scion Versions. Of course, even when he's making house, Literon doesn't leave much room for floating voters. So as per usual, the intense and arresting repetition over ten minutes suggests only the most engrossed dancefloors will get the full benefit of this. Still, what a benefit that will be. Killer package!
