Ease Up
Bursts of triplet percussion rhythms bounce off 808s and rave synths, leading into the halftime footwork groove that is “Ease Up.” SFS0015 comes from South Fork’s founder Blind Prophet, showcasing his style across a new tempo, and giving life to this spacious roller. As woodblocks roll across lazer stabs and 8bit cascades your ears are lulled into a cavernous breakdown. Then straight ahead bang and work. Label stalwart and Vancouver based Subcorr provides the remix, an extension of his recent SFS0014. Using the original sonic palette he flips the piece into a straight-ahead club workout featuring a jovial structure reminiscent of some 8 bar grime edits. Sound system music for the jump off or the come down.
