The Top Rank Story 1961

J. Arthur Rank, a successful North Country flour miller, founded the Rank organisation in the late Thirties. At The height of its success in the Forties the Rank organisation owned five film studios, three chains of cinemas and a chain of film distributors. By the late Fifties Rank decided to diversify into office equipment (Rank Xerox), home radio and record production. Rank Records Ltd was founded at this time and its label was known as Top Rank.
