Wild One: The Cameo-Parkway Story

Philadelphian label Cameo-Parkway Records helped break some of the most influential American artists of the late Fifties and early Sixties, counting such famous names as Chubby Checker, Bobby Rydell and Dee Dee Sharp as part of its roster. Though its existence - like so many regional US labels of the time - was relatively brief at little more than a decade, it ensured it made its mark on the music scene, releasing tracks covering a whole slew of genres including doowop, dance, rock, soul and the ever-popular novelty record.
