The Way of the World - Wow

The Way of the World - Wow

This album represents the maturation of one of the princes of Acappella Gospel music—Steve Adams. Each carefully crafted song is sure to encourage, enlighten and enliven your soul and spirit! The ministry starts from the first songs which paint a very realistic picture of current days and our desire to be free from the drama and turmoil of this life. When you listen to “This Troubled Land” and the title song “The Way of the World”, you’ll see that Steve is very much aware of the things that are going on all around us and how we as Christians know of and yearn for a better place. “Break Thru” is an encouragement to be mindful to celebrate the triumphs and victories of others over challenging situations in their lives and reminds us that God hasn’t forgotten about us either; more “Break Thru's” are on the way and one has your name on it. When you listen to “That’s How HE Is” you’re led to focus on the love Jesus showed toward us through the death that HE suffered for us for the incomprehensible reason—HIS Love. Where would we be if it wasn’t for the prayers of the righteous? “Somebody Prayed For Me” is a tribute and testament to that thought. The story in it could be anyone’s and it is sure to evoke a sense of gratefulness in the heart of the saved. Next, a longtime desire is fulfilled when Steve collaborates on a song with one of his musical mentors, Dorian Paul Williams on “You’re Everything I Need”. You can just hear the fun they had proclaimin’ and sangin’ their appreciation and devotion to God. “I Gotta Tell It” is a beautiful song written by one of the best song writers and leaders in acappella gospel--Bryant Malone of Trinity One Studios. It was recorded and produced by his exceptionally gifted brother, Jerome Malone. In Steve’s words; “It was an awesome opportunity and I am greatly humbled to get to collaborate with the Trinity One Studios family of singers/writers/ and producers”. “How Can You…?” is a song that speaks to that brother/sister who has left the church. It is unapologetic about our responsibility to reach out to one another yet it’s careful to tell us to insure our motives are sincere. “Don’t Let HIS Name Go Down” was recorded with the hard hitting style of the popular acappella gospel recording group United of Houston, TX. These young guys seem to sing beyond their years in a style made famous by some of the pioneering quartet groups. Steve suffered some considerable losses while putting this album together and in his true form he turned hurting into healing which typifies his ministry. In “Singing Around The Thrown” we are reminded of the joy in our desire to see loved ones who have departed this life and are awaiting our arrival in heaven. The song is masterfully crafted by merging a 1940ish pop feel with a definitive gospel music message. In an effort to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his music ministry, we are delightfully brought back to the beginning by revisiting the title song of the 1st album, “HE’S Always There (revisited Pts 1&2)”. You can just feel the maturing of his voice and the confirmation of Steve’s continued faith and trust in God. You will definitely have to attest to God’s goodness and greatness after hearing it...again! What a wonderful talent found in the reprise of the title track, “WOW” featuring Mike Dangerfield. This is 2 minutes of power! His concise yet potent spoken word really brings the message of the album’s concept home. Bring your “fast listening” ears because you’ll want to hear every word. If “HE Was There For Me” doesn’t move you to shout or consider what a blessing it is to have Jesus in your life I don’t know what will. For those who don’t know HIM as a friend in times of trouble, you just won’t be able to relate--sorry. Can you imagine being the first one at the Lord’s House one Sunday and having the whole building to yourself? What an opportunity to open your heart to God! In “YOU Showed Me Love” you’ll hear the heart of a psalmist revealed in the innocence of just a voice giving thanks to God with no pretense, no fear and no self consciousness, just straight out praise and adoration. Sierra Adams, Steve’s 4yr old daughter is featured on “This Troubled Land”, it is so cute it will make you laugh till you cry—even she has grown tired of this troubled land! Enjoy!
