KHARIT is a magical improvisational encounter of two spiritual friends Daniel Moreno, an American percussionist of Mexican descent, based in NYC and Hervé Samb, a Senegalese master guitar player living in Paris. In the almost 10 years touring and jamming around the globe with world renown artists like Pharaoh Sanders, David Murray, Omar Pene, Herbie Hancock, Les Paul, Paban das Baul, Oumou Sangaré, Awa Sangho, Babani Koné, Toumani Diabaté, Salif Keita and specially Cheick Tidiane Seck, a unique musical connection developed between Daniel Moreno and Hervé Samb. KHARIT is the perfect soundtrack for people looking to be surprised by the versatility of two world-bred musicians. The titles on this CD are mostly free form pieces with very little preconceived verbal or musical ideas. Each track takes the listener to a globetrotting experience, without the rush or hazards of airports and planes. The album is flavored by West African, Brazilian and many others multi cultural instruments.
