Rubber Band
My name is Terry Atkinson - aka Xybor. I am a multi-instrumental musician, songwriter, producer and multimedia artist. Xybor and the Cosmonauts is my alter-ego, cyber-ego. With a couple of exceptions, all of the music on this CD was written, played, recorded and produced by me. Musically, I have a broad range of influences -- rock, jazz, fusion, blues, pop. My strongest influence continues to be the Beatles for a lot of reasons. The obvious reason is that the music is so great. But I like the way each song sounds totally different, with all sorts of weird and quirky things going on. Generally, I like music that has multiple layers to it, where there is always something interesting going on somewhere, even though you don't really hear it unless you listen for it. You may be wondering where the name Xybor & the Cosmonauts comes from (I sometimes wonder that myself). Back in the day, when the Web was young, I was trying to set up a Hotmail account, but all the normal names were taken. I wanted something short that started with an unusual letter, and came up with Xybor (pronounced Zybor). After I wrote Rocket to the Moon, I began to appreciate that a band of intergalactic rock-and-rollers (glick and feebers in Kaelon-speak) must be the wave of the future. So there you have it. We are Xybor -- zingstok (vocals); Gleek -- quaznip (guitar); Zoink -- blazergonk (bass); Fizzgig -- kapongdong (percussion); Pakadook -- deebledoip (keyboards and unearthly sounds) If you want to check out our site and see some of the other things we are up to, go to www.xybornaut.com. Thanks for stopping by. Xybor
