Jungle Rain
Lyrically, I tend to write about social issues, with cosmology creeping into as well. Jungle Rain was a deliberate departure from well-formed ideas to a stream of consciousness with thought snippets that seem to be related but you are not quite sure how. Two classic songs that I think use this technique well are Dylan's My Back Pages and Beatles' I Am the Walrus. Musically, it is largely acoustic, with a nylon-stringed guitar as the centerpiece. The vocal phrasing is reminiscent of some classic vocal jazz, such as (I don't stand a) Ghost of a Chance.
