The War Is Not Over

EUROVISION 2005 SENSATIONAL DUO! Vocalists of the group "Putnu balle" (Chicken Run) Kârlis Bûmeisters and Valters Frîdenbergs met 16 years ago when at the age of two they were accepted to the children pop group "Dzeguzîte" (Cockoo). It was ?Dzeguzîte? where both achieved their first success by singing repertoire composed by the maestro Raimonds Pauls most popular songs of that time which are still fresh in memory of many people like "Piena cels" (Milky Way) and "Anniòa vannina (Little Ann in Little Bath). In 1996, in the ceremony of "Latvijas Mûzikas Gada balva" (Annual Musical Award of Latvia), the album of "Dzeguzîte" "Piena ceï" (Milky Way) gained the prestige title of the Bestselling Album. Together with "Dzeguzîte" Kârlis and Valters have travelled to 22 countries and have also visited the most famous concert hall of the world "Madisson Square Garden" in New York. At the moment both boys are members of the group ?Putnu balle? and are working together with Mârtiò Freimanis. Currently the most popular song of 'Putnu Balle" is "Sapnu pardevejs" (Seller of Dreams) written by M. Freimanis, in the Music Video show of the LNT (Latvian Independent Television) owing to this song "Putnu Balle" gained an opportunity to shoot a video. Under the guidance of the director Kristaps Streiès a video was created for the third radio single of the group "Sparni un vejs" (Wings and Wind). The first album of ?Putnu Balle? is expected to be launched in spring; the album will contain several songs composed by Martins Freimanis. In the 2004 national selection of the Eurovision Song Contest, Valters was Chilli's back vocalist, but this year together with Kârlis both are taking part in the selection as solists. The boys note: "We would never think of anything like that but when working with Martins Freimanis this is not the only thing we can expect!? THE WAR IS NOT OVER: Latvian Eurovision Entry 2005 Walters & Kazha just released their CD Maxi single on MicRec PM Label. -"Yes, the war is not over, it just begins" - add Walters & Kazha! "We are still fighting for our own place on the European music scene. We are ready to do our best at the Eurovision semi-final. The main reason of releasing this CD is to promote the song and show our musical taste since Maxi contains also some other tracks, not only the Eurovision entry. Many people compare us to Olsen Brothers (winners of ESC 2000) and sometimes even call us "Little Olsen Brothers"! So, we decided to cover their lucky song "Fly On The Wing Of Love" and you will find this track on the Maxi. Hope it will bring us some luck, too!" Walters & Kazha are members of the band "Putnu Balle" (Chicken Run) and their track "Another Creep" will also appear on the single. Because of the Eurovision rules this single will now be released only in Latvia. After the contest it will be available from Microphone Records and their EMI partners in Europe.
