Overprotected
"Overprotected" is a Grammy Award-nominated dance-pop song by American pop singer Britney Spears released from the album Britney. It was the second single released during the first quarter of 2002. The song is another product of the pop songwriting and producing team made up of Max Martin and Rami, though the Darkchild Remix of the song was produced by Rodney Jerkins. The single was released in its original version in Europe, but as the Darkchild Remix in the U.S. Thus, there were two different music videos released to promote the song. Spears said of the song, "This is a song I can relate to on a personal basis, because I feel kind of overprotected. When I want to go out, everything has to be organized in advance. I think that other kids of my age can relate to it to a certain extent." In 2003, Spears was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for the song but lost to Norah Jones's "Don't Know Why".
