Things To Do

Things To Do

Dedication: This album is dedicated to all my brothers and sisters, to our respective mothers, and to our descendants. We grew up in different families not knowing about each other, but, thank God, we now do. I hope this album brings each of you a refreshing mix of humor, love, and enjoyable music. Many of the songs, herein, combine a historical family situation with a lot of imagination to try to present a picture of how certain events might have taken place or how certain items of misinformation might have been communicated originally. Other songs use pure imagination to create a scene that can never take place, but how would we, or others, react if it did? The song "Calm The Storm" summarizes my personal feelings about God's working through the twists and turns of our family history to touch our lives and to finally bring us together. I would also like to co-dedicate the song "Calm The Storm" to my mother-in-law, Annette Strevel, who was undergoing surgery when I wrote the lyrics for this song in the hospital's adjoining waiting room. You were on my mind, but you were in the hands of "The Great Physician." Featured artists on this album are: ...Marshall Clary - Lead vocals, most harmony vocals, and keyboards. This is the fourth CD album of songs written by Marshall Clary that have been recorded, and the first album on which Marshall performs the vocals. ...Rusty Hendrix on acoustic guitar and dobro. Rusty played guitar on 13 earlier songs that Marshall wrote and recorded prior to this current "Things To Do" album. Rusty has been a guitarist in the touring bands of Country Music Stars Lori Morgan and Mark Wills. ...Shad Cobb on fiddle and mandolin. Shad plays fiddle, mandolin, and guitar in the touring band of country singer Mark Wills. Songwriters: ...All songs on this album were written by Marshall D. Clary who holds the COPYRIGHTS for each song. ...Stu Phillips, member of the Grand Ole Opr'y, discussed a song idea of his with Marshall Clary and gave Marshall permission to write a song influenced by Stu's comments. In recognition of his contribution, Marshall Clary granted a 25% interest to Stu Phillips in the song "Jesus Wept" that is included on this current album.
