Magician's Nephew
For our 51st release, we have a beautiful EP from Sebastian Moriarty and it is full of magic. After the success of his debut EP, we are delighted to have him on Ambious again. Kicking things off we have Magician’s Nephew. It is an uptempo offering with a catchy organic groove and a beautiful bass line that carries the track. The lead synth and stabs are full of emotion and during the breakdown, there is more emphasis on those elements. The track then comes back in full force as the filter is fully open on the stabs, taking the listener on an epic journey to the stars. For the remix, we are delighted to welcome Jope to the Ambious Records family - the Amsterdam based artist has released on labels such as Sommerville, Variety Music and LW Recordings to name a few. He focuses on producing house and techno with a fundamental melodic characteristic. His interpretation of ‘Magician's Nephew’ is uplifting and euphoric. It is also full of lush pads and beautiful stabs that take the listener on an epic adventure throughout the entire arrangement. By the time the track ends, one feels a keen sense of hope and happiness. 'Valeria' is an absolute treat, full of exciting and engaging grooves- the musicality throughout the arrangement is very strong. The lovely synths, piano chord progressions and bright stabs will take you on a very satisfying feel-good adventure. ‘I Digress’ starts off with a bouncy sub bass and percussive texture. During the breakdown, Sebastian introduces some very catchy and exciting motifs combined with passing notes that carry over into the last part of the arrangement. ‘Spiral’ has a more laid back texture and opens up with a 4/4 groove and a lovely arpeggio cadence is present throughout the entire track. The bass line is very compelling for the listener and carries the track beautifully.
