Your Lucky Day
According to Aquarian Magazine's "First Listens" column, Kimon is "different than what is out there these days since a lot of what's new sounds very much the same... he's willing to experiment with his musical style, and that's what makes him interesting." In the words of the Tri-City News, "he knows exactly what he wants his songs to say...his straight forward, muscular lyrics speak for themselves". New York City born musician Kimon (pronounced "kee-mon"), a veteran of the underground indie rock scene, has been a member of numerous bands with national releases including Psonica and Fear Of Falling. As a solo artist, he's long been paying his dues in the New York club scene. A rebellious energy in the original spirit of rock and roll distinguish Kimon as a dynamic performer, who through the years has built up a loyal following by constantly playing live in one form or another. Now, as a solo artist with a serious backing band, he's taking his fight against hypocrisy to the road, shedding light on the inequities of our times, and delivering what he sees as the truth to whatever stage will let him. With two indie releases, musically, Kimon has returned to his roots with a more melodic blend of '70s rock and blues, with a punk attitude, delivering impeccably crafted radio ready gems. Not mincing words, lyrically, Kimon snubs the typical "introspective singer / songwriter" genre, projecting his cynical demeanor outward, and it reflects upon his songs. With a unique sense of socio-political discent, Kimon has defined himself as a thought provoking politically charged social commentator for our times.
