D-Lux Lounge
The exquisite tingling of the voice of inspired singer, composer and vocalist Jillene Luce carries us beyond this world, in a subtle and mysterious dream of the inner universe. “There is a beautiful universe within each one of us, we are all made of Stardust.” Jillene Luce Jillene Luce's music is a mixture of the styles which fascinated her since early childhood. She studied classical piano, played pop and dance hits in local bands in Miami and New York, then later became intrigued by film music and the great new lyrical jazz artists of the 70's and 80's. Moving to Europe, she loved the new ambient and electronic sounds of the 90's and this coloured her music as she performed and produced countless tracks for stage performances, film and commercial use, as well as her own compositions, combining these styles. She then began to sing professionally, performing live in lounge style with DJ's and saxophonists beginning in 2002, composing original music in this style as well as freestyling over well known and loved lounge and ambient tracks. That was the year she met Alex Voegele, a multi talented guitarist and composer, who studied latin guitar from his Chilean Uncle as a teenager. Alex asked her to collaborate with him, to write lyrics and sing on some of his compositions, and a magical composing/producing team was created. Ivan Simatovic added a further imaginative touch with his keyboard playing in Soul Connection and Breakaway, as well as coaching Ms. Luce on her vocals in those two songs and Inner Music in New York. Alex and Jillene realized they wanted to add more innovative elements to the rhythms and arrangements and do a more high end production, so enter Robert Jan Meyer, aka DJ Minus 8, whose exclusive and lush rhythm tapestries completed the picture. Minus 8 is an accomplished producer/composer in his own right, having released several album productions to date in the Ambient/Lounge genre. Together they fine tuned the arrangements to create 10 tracks to lift the spirit and touch the heart on the album. The last track on the album, "Travel Beyond", was a text and melody by Jillene, which the brilliant power duo "Spacetrain" consisting of Dean Montenegro and Dave Macleod, made the soundtrack and production to. The track they created for her vocals provide a crystal clear, dreamy, ethereal yet grooving musical trip into ones inner and most sacred world.
