He started beat boxing in 1990. He was beat boxing for rap groups, solo rappers and battled other beat boxers. With this he created a name for himself. Gel had attracted his own fans. A lot of local artists loved for him to beat boxed for them. In 1992, he joined a group called Bullfish II and at the same time he became Beat Effect. Beat Effect did the beat boxing for Bullfish II. They did shows all over Cleveland, Ohio. When beat boxing became silent, Beat Effect found another way to translate his beats using the keyboard. This made his beats even more unique. He started doing beats for up and coming record labels and different types of artists and recording songs with known stars such as: 1. Bizzy Bone 2. Stat Quo 3. Bone Thugs N Harmony 4. Crucial Conflict 5. Aaron Hall 6. 216 7. 71 North In 1998, Gel started writing uplifting lyrics and with the power of God, made extraordinary songs. He started doing performances all over Ohio in places such as Glenville Festival, Woodhill Festival for Mayor M. White, Karos Park Festival, Vel's on the Circle, Cleveland Convocation Center, Diamondback Party Center, Cincinnati Jazz Festival, Millennium Party Center, Cotton Club, Peabody's, The Coliseum, Club Moda, Metropolis, Kaos, Odeon, Agora and The House of Blues. Gel's new single Shoulder Work has hit the charts on the Soundscan regional Top 100 Singles. Look for outstanding works from him on his soon to be released album Even Scale What's in Gel.
