Trumpetology
Ramon Kenan A Raleigh native who holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree of Music from Oral Roberts University, Tulsa Oklahoma. Has been performing professionally since high school. Has served as Adjunct Trumpet professor at North Carolina Central University, North Carolina State University, and Campbell University. Ramon has performed with music legends such as The O’Jays, Frankie Valli, Clark Terry, Byron Stripling, Fred Wesley, Stanley Turrentine, The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, and Ed Shaughnessy. His international travels include Canada, Indonesia, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, the Bahamas, and Russia. Previous Member of the North Carolina Jazz Repertory Orchestra he is also the lead and solo trumpeter for the Raleigh Jazz Orchestra and the North Carolina Brass. Has produced local radio, is a song writer, and composer. He has composed a five (5) movement symphony with plans to premiere it in the near future.
