Profit Over People (Woody Version) [feat. Jon Wayne & Nathan Kremer]
Truth and hope from the front lines of America. In a battle between greed and generosity the conflict intensifies. These artists have traveled through time and space to bring you these words of wisdom and vibes of goodwill. Thew battle wages on what path will you choose? Brand new single available now! Been a few years in the making of this version. Actually lost Woody's tracks for awhile but then found them on an obscure hard drive that got tucked away. Been so busy with work and life things but kept chiseling away at this one and here it is! Feels really good to get this song out. I started writing it years ago on a tour (i think Jackson Hole) with Jon Wayne and The Pain. I kicked it around for a bit and it started to grow and evolve on its own. Then Jon put a sick Bridge lyric to it and then my good pal Woodrow wrote an epic rap/rant to it. Im still a novice at makin beats but i feel i did this song justice. Sometimes when your just messing around learning thats when the magic happens. There are gonna be a couple other versions of this song popping up and they are each unique in their own way. I really hope you take a chance to throw a few quarters at this tune and give it some legs. The song says a lot about the state of our country right now and it has a kind of late 90's garage punk/reggae/acoustic tone in my opinion. I got a bit Jackson Polluck on this one and was tossing all kinds of colors on the canvas. I even had my iPhone plugged in via 1/8 inch and was using some program to paint sound with. For me this song gives me that fresh vibe like when Beastie Boys came out with Check your Head or G love with its that easy. or Blink 182 with Cheshire Cat. Im not saying the song sounds like those bands - it doesn't at all actually but the vibe is the same. Its the same vibe like when snowboarding was still getting going and tricks were still being invented and style was a big factor. Watching videos with Jamie Lynn and all the Totally Board guys. not saying snowboarding isn't still sick it just doesn't have the soul that it did in the late 90's early 00's. For me music, snowboarding, painting, etc, underground all the roots meet. Anyway enough with the rant hope ya like the song. You won't hear it on top40 #GMO #underground #counterculture
