Shahla
Michael Lucarelli was born on August 18, 1959 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He began his music education in 1973 on the electric guitar after hearing the group Led Zepplin. Later, Michael discovered the classical guitar and began his studies with Peruvian Guitarist Ricardo Linares. Mr. Lucarelli went on to receive his Bachelor of Music degree in 1989 from the University of Utah and his Master of Music in 1992 from the University of Arizona in Guitar performance. His teacher's include Recardo Linares, Milten Jensen, Jerry Tertocha, and Tom Patterson. He has also attended Master Classes with Christopher Parkening, Sharon Isbin, Manuel Barrueco, Vladimir Mikulka, Abel Carlevaro, Benjamin Verdery, Pepe Romero, and Scott Tennant. Currently Michael lives in Salt Lake City with his wife Shahla, where he has an active schedule performing, recording, teaching, and composing for the classical guitar. Mr. Lucarelli teaches Guitar and Yoga through the University of Utah "LifeLong Learning" as well as private guitar instruction at his home studio. Michael performs extensively for concerts, festivals, and private events throughout the U.S.
