Lucid Funk

Kruff Kurtis delivers 5 cuts of synth laden funk of the highest order. The EP kicks off with Funk Mothership and you are immediately immersed in the spacey journey that Kruff is about to take you on. The track makes you feel that you are physically being launched into this EP weather you like it or not, with its sinister chords and floating alien-like synth arpeggios. The short but sweet Going Lucid then vamps up the funk with drums that immediately get your head nodding, quickly followed by an infectious bass line that wobbles and squirms around the drums. Lost in Space follows this vibe, with its warm infectious floating synths accompanied by strutting drums and bass. Next up is the aptly named Finding My Way Back. It has a slightly panicked feel to it, as if you have been lost in space and are manically trying to find your way back to Kruffs mothership. Kruff ends the journey with the title track Lucid Funk. Warm chords pulsate over a more understated bass line. Floating lead synths then dip and dive out of the track. Especially after Finding My Way Back the track has a calming groove that feels like its gently dropping you off back to earth.
