Dedicated: A Salute to the 5 Royales
Steve Cropper must be regarded one of the most influential American guitar players of the 1960s. His trademark playing combining rhythm and solo guitar, has shaped the sound of countless soul masters, from his own Mar-Keys and Booker T. & The MGs to Otis Redding and Carla Thomas. Guitarist Lowman Pauling form the 5 Royales, a vocal group that started recording during the early 1950s, has been his major influence. Consequently, the concept of Steve's new album ain't no surprise: paying tribute to the 5 Royales. A very good one. - Green packaging.
