The Violator
Tried and tested veteran underground Techno favorites Fresh Otis and Emir Hazir join forces to cap off a great first year for Terminus Audio with a dizzying stomper entitled 'The Violator'. Having already released on the label themselves; Otis and Emir are backed by a rock solid supporting cast of remixers across the globe with this EP. Sandro Galli, Jakob Ezdel, Theodore Elektrk and Carl Antony all provide their take on the original. This is a highly useful, wild and varied package of tracks that is sure to find a home in the selections of discerning underground DJ's. Without further delay, we proudly present TMINUS024: Fresh Otis & Emir Hazir - The Violator EP. 'The Violator' is a big collaboration between two well-known producers in the scene: Austria's Fresh Otis and Turkey's Emir Hazir - both of whom have a distinct sound their fans have come to follow. Their styles mesh well in this lurid and heavy track - characterized by a booming and reverberated, almost tribal-esque groove. Plenty of quick edits, atmospheric effects and percussive variations keep things interesting; while a provocative vocal sample is the primary focus of this track - a common signature often heard in Fresh Otis works. Definitely one for darker sets. First up on remix duty is Italian producer Sandro Galli; owner of Luminar Records and no stranger to international Techno game himself. He delivers a stormer. Dialed-in and doesn't bullsh*t, this one goes straight for the jugular. A menacing synth line, haunting stabs, and crisp chugging cymbals are the basis of Sandro Galli's remix. Next is Hungarian Jakob Edzel - who describes his style as 'powerful, dark and dynamic'. This is a perfectly apt description for his take on 'The Violator'. His approach slightly more subtle - with great atmosphere and sound design along with a fat bassline. A nice brooding track here for DJ's. Rising United States-based artist Theodore Elektrk, fresh off a release with Toxic Recordings turns in an awesome work that keeps the pressure on and is designed with the working DJ in mind. This is a banger and a recent favorite of label boss Jason Mills in sets. The track jacks; with a Chicago-meets-Techno sound and plenty of cool edits to keep things moving. Spot on and great to mix other tracks with. Finally, and last but certainly not least is Carl Antony - a seasoned producer from the UK. He has set his sights on Techno and Jason Mills saw some great potential with this artist. He does not disappoint, with a pummeling sound that would go off at your local rave. Energetic and frenetic with a persistent snare and a sick bassline - this is one you will want to hammer. This marks the final release of 2015 for Terminus Audio. We thank you all for listening and your support! We do it for you! 2016 brings some awesome surprises! Thank you to our artists, DJ's, supporters and publications for a great first year!
