Jaded
Jyre continues its trek into the furthest reaches of the groove, with Dave Samuels Jaded EP warping space, time, and the floor to equal measure. The title track lifts off with the heaviest notes of the EP, an impressive arsenal of synths and stabs bouncing off a warp-drive array of hats. Hitting its stride, Hydro adds a snap-back note to the journey, with a collider of a classic beat winding around some of the most impressive sample vocals youll hear this year. The standout third track Morning Rise filters sample-driven wavelengths down your oxygen mask, a breathy spoken-word vocal guiding a landing into the deep, forest canopy of a breakdown, before lifting into the atmosphere again. Finally, Pluto finds Samuel charting a course through an echo of post-dub-techno, a twisted slow-burner for your set buildups and after-hours alike. Samuel and Jyre remind us that space itself has no limits a glimpse at the infinite.
