The Best!

Review by Steve Leggett Not that most folks outside of Texas necessarily remember this, but Lou Ann Barton was a founding member of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, and was that band's lead singer before she left for a solo career. This set isn't a typical "best-of," although it does cover all the stages of her recording and performing career, with signature album tracks as well as five previously unreleased tracks from her early time with the Thunderbirds, tracks from her cooperative release with fellow Texas blues women Marcia Ball and Angela Strehli, Dreams Come True, from 1990, and other captivating odds and ends, all of which adds up to a nice introduction to this fine singer.
