Here With You
Album Notes Annie Kozuch’s voice is cool, clean and a joy to hear - and she sings in three languages (English, Spanish and Portuguese). This smart blonde was raised in Mexico City and grew up in a house full of music before following her musical and theatrical dreams to New York City. Supporting her on this debut album, Frank Ponzio (piano), Saadi Zain (bass), Vito Lesczak (drums), Samuel Torres (percussion), Richard Padron (guitar), Cecilia Tenconi (saxophone/flute), and Jose Gallegos (electric piano). These musicians know how to play jazz, boleros and bossa nova and do a terrific job of reminding you that you are listening to great music, while at the same time not getting in the way of the cool sensual, romantic voice of Miss Kozuch. Her connection to the lyric makes you wonder if she wrote each song – acting every song as well she sings them. Her disc “Here with You” is made up of about equal parts of ballads “You’ve Changed”, “Who Can I Turn To”, “Somos Novios”, and faster, more swinging songs like “I Love Being Here With You”, “Chega de Saudade” and “You’re Getting to Be a Habit With Me”. She sings effortlessly in each language, showing off her wonderful range of musical styles and versatility. One can only wait to see where her next disc takes her.
