Rubén González is a singer/songwriter and guitarist from San Juan, Argentina, where he studied classical guitar and participated in the Rock en Español (rock nacional) movement in the ‘80’s as a guitar player and a songwriter. In the United States he has performed and recorded with groups playing styles, such as Tango, Brazilian Popular Music, Latin Jazz and Salsa, as well as his own compositions. Flaco’s lyrics touch upon social issues and current events as well as personal and relationship experiences. In his music, Rock en Español, bossa nova, and the Latin American popular song share space with his own rhythmic style with novel harmonies. With songs about Mother Earth, alcoholism and pixilated love on the Internet, among others, Rubén’s performance is an excellent opportunity to taste original music with Spanish words in an intimate and rhythmic environment.
