Helen Forrest (April 12, 1917 – July 11, 1999) was an American singer. At the peak of her career, she was one of the most popular female vocalists in the United States and, today, is regarded by many as the greatest female vocalist of America's big band Swing Era. During her career, she served as the "girl singer" for three of the most popular bands of the swing era (Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, and Harry James), thus earning the reputation as "the voice of the name bands."
