Nu Braz
The Nu Braz project is a creation by singer, musician, DJ Emmanuele Cucchi. As the name suggests, its about Brazilian music, Braz is the São Paulo quarter traditionally inhabited by the Italian immigrants community. Nu Brazs musical influences come from jazz, Italian 60s soundtracks and Nu Bossa. The artists involved in the project include: Jose Mascolo, former orchestra director in São Paulo and Rio De Janeiro, but also of the NBC Orchestra in London. Arranger for Shirley Bassey and Petula Clarck, pianist with Toquinho and Fred Bongusto for many years. Lo Greco Bros., also known as Soulstance, who work among the others with Gerardo Frisina (Schema Records). Dilene Ferraz, former Brazilian Love Affair lead singer. The album includes 11 songs, 3 of which are covers of popular Brazilian songs and 2 are songs originally made famous by Emmanueles mother, singer Anna DAmico, in the the 60s. Emmanuele has been singing since the age of 5 and has also worked in theatre. He is the artistic director of various clubs in Milan and São Paulo and for some important Italian fashion designers like Armani, Rocco Barocco and Lorenzo Riva.
