DESTINEAK – Bio Mechanix DESTINEAK formed in 2004, after falling in love at a gig. Admittedly, Bobby and Christina moved a little fast. Within moments they had kissed. After only an hour they witnessed one another shred on stage. By the end of the night they were hurriedly loading Bobby’s drums into his pick up truck, eager for some alone time so they could jam. That jam has lasted for over 5 years now, and after countless floor thumping shows and a new album dropping this year with Moshpit Productions, it is only getting louder. Bobby James and Christina Sing use a moniker that describes their surprising partnership – DESTINEAK – a freak destination. After all, it’s not every day that a veteran punk rock drummer drops everything to lock up a young jazz singer in his studio in hopes of making a hit record and buying a sailboat. This is exactly what DESTINEAK has been working towards for the last 5 years. They have been performing and recording non-stop on Canada’s West Coast, and in both 2009 & 2010 won Vancouver Nightlife Award’s “Best Live Performers of the Year”. DESTINEAK also won Virgin Radio’s “Best of BC Artists” in August 2010. DESTINEAK’s current single ‘Calling Your Name’ is climbing up the Top 40 Charts in Canada, and has won them Chum Radio’s Emerging Artist Contest for February 2011, putting them on air waves nation wide. From conception, DESTINEAK has been a LIVE VOCAL VISUAL DRUM SHOW. Long before any releases or record deals, their high energy performances had earned them stages at Juno Fest, Canada Place, GM Place, Devonian Gardens, The Opera House in TO, many Vancouver Gay Pride main stages, The Commodore Ballroom, Flames Central Calgary, The Ford Centre, Fusion Festival, The 2010 Olympic Opening Ceremonies @ Holland Park, and numerous club residencies and special events. German dance label Decks Tracks heard the ruckus from half way around the globe and put out DESTINEAK’s first online single “Gimme What I Came For ” in 2008 with 11 different remixes. The mixes that they received from these artists gave Bobby and Christina invaluable inspiration, and led to huge leaps in their production and arranging. The acoustic demos they had been writing in the first few years started to grow freakishly bass heavy legs, brash kick drums, power anthem vocals, and synths for brains. The result is DESTINEAK’s debut record: ‘Sirens - 8 Album tracks containing everything from pop dance hooks to rock ballads to grinding electro. The heart behind the music ties it all together, but it’s the unabated pop attitude that seals the deal. The 8 songs are accompanied by 8 music videos, which DESTINEAK produced, directed and edited with Moshpit Productions and Lucid City Pictures. But wait… once DESTINEAK gets you alone, they take you out dancing… The album features remixes from top producers Ian Carey (Ministry of Sound/Hed Kandi), Erick Decks(Decks Tracks) and Lazy Rich (#1 Electro Beatport Artist, Big Fish Recordings). These remixes are what take you to the heart of DESTINEAK’s live show. The radio pumps the pop mixes, but when you come to a concert, it is another game all together. Bobby and Christina remix, mash, and re-assemble all of their tracks to give the fans a special treat every show. DESTINEAK’S “ Remix Tour” starts spring 2011, hitting all major cities across Canada, and onward to the rest of the world. Moshpit Productions Inc. Distributed by Fontana North/Universal
