Dino Merlin
前南斯拉夫流行摇滚著名男歌手、词曲作者。 Biography Dino Merlin is the most renowned songwriter from Bosnia and Herzegovina and indisputably one of the greatest and most popular music artists in the Balkans. Back in 1983 Dino established the widely popular pop rock band “Merlin” for which he writes both music and lyrics while also being the band’s lead vocalist, thus becoming one of the most admired frontmen in former Yugoslavia. He set off to start his solo career in 1991 going by the stage name Dino Merlin. Ever since he has been widely accepted as one of the greatest songwriters and stars in the region. Since 1991 he has recorded several studio albums, including greatest hits editions and live concert recordings. His album “Sredinom”/“Through the middle” has been one of the most sold albums in Southeastern Europe in the last decade. Dino has performed in front of a packed Kosevo Olympic Stadium in Sarajevo three times in a row. The release of his latest album “Ispocetka”/“Starting Anew” in the summer of 2008 was marked by a true spectacle at Kosevo Olympic Stadium in Sarajevo in front of an audience of 60.000 people. The tour surrounding this album is still on the go. To the long list of achievements during the course of his career until now Dino has managed to add performances at two Eurovision Song Contests, namely: the first entry of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1993 for which he wrote the music and co-authored the lyrics (song “Sva bol svijeta”/“All the world’s pain”), and a couple of years later in 1999 in Jerusalem where he presented Bosnia and Herzegovina with his song “Putnici”/“Travelers”. This time Dino ended up in seventh place, which is thus far the country’s second best result in this contest.
