MARIKA (born 14.12.1980) is a Lady MC, vocalist, songwriter whose career is developed at the same time in different music styles: from reggae & dancehall to nu-jazz and funk. She acted in The Music Theatre of Gdansk in a hip-hop theatrical project called '12 benches'. Moreover she has performed as a supporting artist for such stars as: Macy Gray, Gentleman, Panjabi Hit Squad, performed also at the Top Trends 2006 Festival TRENDS 2006 in Sopot. MARIKA‘s mother formation is Bass Medium Sound System. In between 2002-2005 the squad was called BASS MEDIUM TRINITY and was represented by 3 members: MARIKA, Frenchman and Abselektor. Album 'Mowisz i Masz' , including 13 tunes focused on traditional jamican riddims was the result of BMT's activity. It's become a very hot stuff and has been sold out in a double issue. BM has been touring Poland and Europe, performing alongside stars such as: Gentelman, David Rodigan, Luciano, WWO, Abradab, Gutek, Mad Crew and top Polish sound systems.
