Matt Meler
Man alive, if loving house music is wrong Matt Meler don’t wanna be right. From the moment that first pair of Technics 1200's dropped onto his table in 2003, Matt made no apologies about digging through crates for jams by men like Frankie Knuckles, Miguel Migs, Masters At Work, Dimitri From Paris, Kerri Chandler, Moodymann, Larry Levan, Dennis Ferrer, JT Donaldson, Mark Farina, Derrick Carter and Joey Negro. Disco to Deep! And, all that house that it spawned! Yeah, all that good stuff. His influences are firmly rooted in the underground, however Matt draws inspiration from being exposed to just about every genre under the sun by his musical loving parents, from Sade to Mozart, Louie Armstrong to The Rolling Stones, thus leading to Matts deep knowledge of music and love in particular for jazz, funk, soul, disco and ultimately house. Matt’s long-running passion for DJing has seen him hold multiple long-term residencies at some of Australia’s most exclusive clubs supporting some of the scenes heavyweights like Sonny Fodera, Franky Rizardo, Oliver Dollar, Henry Saiz, Joey Negro, Dimitri from Paris, Fred Everything, Miguel Migs, Canyons, Softwar, Richard Earnshaw & Flight Facilities. It wasn't until four years ago that he started dabbling in production at home, but the last 2 years have seen a love affair with studio software and hardware become an obsession. While most obsessions ain’t great, Matt’s vice has proven fruitful. Looking to continue his momentumn into 2015 after a slew of releases on respected international labels, Matt has found himself releasing on the famed 'Armada Music'. Keep your eyes peeled for these upcoming releases ..... !
